Twitter: I could take it or leave it. No DON’T TAKE IT!

twitter-failI’m not addicted to Twitter. In fact, when I was having problems logging into my account the other day I didn’t even panic. I calmly contacted Twitter and explained the situation. I explained that I couldn’t log into my account and asked for a little help. That was 12 days ago. All the “help” I’ve gotten was in the form of an email with the subject line (I’m not making this up) “Information about using Twitter with your phone”. I replied with “Thank you. But this… in no way… even begins to address my issue. Please re-read my original email for details.”

Now I’m upset. Each day that passes the withdrawal symptoms get worse. The kicker? How am I supposed to express my frustration to fellow nerds if I can’t get on Twitter?

I’m about to take a road trip to Twitter’s office and start banging on the door. (Is California far?)  I’m not addicted or anything crazy like that I just…

[update: on 8/28/09 at 4:31pm I officially rejoined the world.  @Charles at twitter reset my password for me and I am back, baby!]

Hey Drew, We were all talking about you the other day and wondered if you had just been uber busy with Real Life. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. I just tweeted out your blog post.

Thanks for checking on me Scott – I feel so cold and alone in this twitter-less world! Ha!

I’m not sure what else I can do to recover my account. I’ve already created two “support tickets.” There’s always the option of starting again from scratch with a different account, but that would be a last resort. For some reason I imagine the Twitter office as three guys frantically running around a warehouse of servers screaming and tripping over wires while phones are ringing continuously in the background. In short, I recognize that (especially with all the downtime lately) they have bigger problems than worrying about @drewskwarcan, but still.

Anyways, thanks for tweeting about this post – it means a lot. I wonder, has anyone else had this problem? I’m open to all the help I can get at this point.
